ForFunFlyer: sharing the thrill of Light Sport- and Micro Light Aircraft flying!

Here’s my new ForFunFlyer Trailer (S02)

A new season and breaking the first 1,000 YouTube subscriber barrier! If that’s not reason to make a new channel trailer, then what is? 😉

Welcome to ForFunFlyer! An aviation YouTube channel focussing on sharing stories about Light Sport Aviation, or Micro Light Aviation as it’s called here in Holland. That’s what this channel is all about!

Words of encouragement to fight COVID-19 (S02 E06)

Like the most of us, I’m stuck at home following the rules of ‘Social Distancing’. A part of that is the shutdown of my home airport, see my previous episode. In all honesty, not so much of a problem.

I asked a couple of other aviation YouTubers to help me putting this message out. United in times of crisis, to make the world brighter!

Grounded due to the Corona virus outbreak (S02 E05)

Like a lot of other GA and commercial pilots around the world, I’m grounded too because of the temporary shutdown of my home airport, due to the Corona virus outbreak (COVID-19).

The world is a crazy, crazy place, at the moment… 🙁 Anyway, I hope you’ll enjoy this episode. And stay safe!

One year of FFF & my favorite YT channels (S02 E04)

Below the very first birthday episode of ForFunFlyer! As of February 27th 2020, ForFunFlyer exists exactly one year! To celebrate this milestone, I made a compilation of the first year and take the opportunity to share my personal favorite YouTube channels with you.

Enjoy! 🙂

Testing my TL-96 Star for the second time (S02 E03)

Where the previous episode was about addressing some technical issues on my TL Ultralight TL-96 (S02 E02), this episode is about the second test flight, to see if those issues are solved.

Spoiler alert: they are! 🙂 Curious how it all went? Go check out this episode!

Syncing carbs, balancing the prop and more (S02 E02)

After the first test flight of my TL Ultralight TL-96 Star, which you can watch in S02 E01, I had to solve a couple of issues. Some of them big, some of them small.

The biggest issues I had on my first (test~) flight, was engine RPM related vibrations and RF interference and noise on the VHF radio.

Finally she flies again, my TL-96 Star! (S02 E01)

After finishing up the work on my TL Ultralight TL-96 Star, it was finally time for ground testing the aircraft and to take her up for a flight again!

After months and months of hard work on the TL-96, I was finally able to get the plane moving again. First by doing ground tests and taxi tests and later on by taking the airplane up for a flight! Awesome!

Installing engine mounts and cockpit panels (S01 E19)

Doing more work on my TL Ultralight TL-96! On this episode a recap of the work I did on the Rotax 912 ULS engine mounts and rubbers and (finally) the installation of the cockpit panels! Yay! 🙂

This episode tells the story of servicing the engine mount and rubbers and the installation of the cockpit panels.

Tying the oil tank, extra fuel pump and more! (S01 E18)

The work on my TL Ultralight TL-96 continues! On this episode a recap of the work I did on the Rotax 912 ULS engine oil tank, adding an extra fuel pump and work on the electrical systems.

Where I worked in previous episodes on designing new cockpit panels and more, the work in this episode is somewhat more engine based.

Transponder preparations and avionics (S01 E17)

I continued my ‘plane project’ by making preparations for the installation of my new transponder and other avionics.

This episode covers the work on the installation of the transponder antenna and ground plane, making a wiring jack for my new cockpit panels and install all avionics onto the new cockpit panels.
